Text 10 Aug Uzbek - Day 3

We finished our next morning inspection and meeting in the hotel itself. Sweet – need not to run around in the hot weather. For the past few days it hasn’t been very forgiving.. reaching up to 36’C and it doesn’t help when our drivers don’t turn on the car’s air-condition.

After our meeting, inspections and “prize-giving ceremony”, we were given a very good lunch before we hit the road again for about 1+ hours to Namangan City where FC Novbakhor is – the team that lost 1-5 to Andijon.

Along the hot hot route towards Namangan, we took turns in telling jokes just to keep ourselves sane and distracted from the blazing heat in the shabby van we’re in. It was a fun 1.5hrs ride nonetheless

I swear I was smiling.. you just can’t see it.. The one in the middle is our ‘Chief’.. hiding from the camera

The next inspections and meetings was done with our sweat trickling down our spine the whole time, it wasn’t pleasant definitely.. by the time this was all over we were escorted to have a FEAST in the very posh house belonging to the major of the city.

Yes.. a very lavish wine & dine session.. but too bad, we were rushing for time to go back to Tashkent.

Without a doubt, we ate as quickly as we still have a long way to travel back to Tashkent. It took us around 2 hours and by the time we left Namangan, it was already around 1930hrs. 4.5 hours later we’ve reached back to civilization – Tashkent!.. I was never happier to come back to our Radisson hotel.

The night didn’t end very well as I realized that I have left my iPhone in the car that brought me here. It was too late to do anything and I will just have to sleep with the worries in my mind that it will be sorted out tomm..

Sighh..

I’m an Uzbek because:-

1)      I start my meal with a shot of Vodka – or two.. or even three (famously called as ‘chut chut’)

2)      I must have my winter melons and water melons in every meal

3)      I need to queue for at least 20mins before I can fill up my gas.. no, I mean real gas.. Natural Gas (methane)
