It’s a weekend here in Doha.. so was yesterday, their weekends falls on Friday and Saturday. I was more or less in the room the whole of today, yesterday was slightly more interesting with Friday brunch & catching a game in Al Gharafah.
Thus, I’ve decided to blog for once.. to show my love ones back home abit bout me life here in a country where people are rich and standards of living is above the clouds.. normally I’m too lazy.. No Time Mahh…
Friday is like a family day here, where families will go out for brunch, friends will meet up for brunch and all the hotels will try to out-do each others.. The brunch is not cheap, in fourseasons its RM290/pax.. the rest of the other hotels are around the same.. ranging RM190 to RM290/pax but you’ll get the best of the best la.. Check out the photos..

I shouldn’t have start with this picture cause all you see on the table here are desserts.. yup.. ALL desserts.. and this is sorta the entrance.. :)

Yes.. my first dish was Foie Gras with some condiments.. Yums!

Which is followed by caviar..

Yup.. my caviar, salmon & fresh lobster as a starter..
I is glutton.. So full till cannot even think of dinner.. anyway back to my original story..
My company puts me up in one of the best hotels in this city, which I was part of the delegates during the decision on hotel stays. Amongst all the others such as Ritz, Marriot, Movenpick, Intercon, etc. We strongly feels that this is one of the nicest around.
My days here normally starts at around 6am local time.. not tat early if you compared to my bio-clock which is tuned to KL time - i.e. 11am.. Haha! I’ll normally try to make my way to the awesome gym not too far away.. except for the past two days.. was plain lazy
The room which I’m staying in is just a normal standard room but even though being said so.. it is not cheap..

I didn’t know that they list the price in the wardrobe until two days ago..
There are some really nice lil touches that they provide that I don’t see in any other hotels. This is how all fourseason patrons being pampered

They call you by name every time you picks up the phone.. Daily they will provide a platter of fruits in your room and they changes it everyday as well

For a techy person like me, I’m very delighted when I saw this Bose iPod/iPhone dock sits just next to the bed.. Like I said, nice lil’ touches here n there.. although the PS3 have to be requested from the concierge.
Actually, talking about requests.. funnily enough lotsa standard things they don’t provide also. Namely.. newspaper! If you don’t fill up your preferences in a form, they never send it to you, secondly tea making facility.. you have to dial and ask for your kettle and tea or coffee whichever that you prefer.
This is where I usually sit and work my arse off even after office hour.. there is no ‘office hour’ when I’m in Doha.. KL is 5hrs ahead and I’ll have only couple of hours to send out to emails before the colleagues in KL goes back home.

Oppss.. someone pressed my doorbell, the laundry’s back!.. hmm.. let me take a picture of this.. I find very ‘nice’ they have this lil’ ribbon that ties the undergarment & socks whenever they comes back from the laundry.. Look closely..

Yes.. they tie the hangers as well.. mind you, good thing my company ‘pau’ my laundry.. or else I’ll end up paying around RM100 each time I wash a measly 4-5pcs of watever I gave them.
I must say that the toiletries is one of the nicest ‘branded’ in comparison with all the other hotels..

Can you imagine.. they have L’occitane shaving kit! haha!.. didn’t know that till I asked for it today.. I think I’m kinda free today, thus I did a lil’ grooming as well.. and yeah.. have to call and request for my manicure kit, I told them on the phone “Do you have nail clipper?”
The other side: “Nail… what?”
Me: “You know.. I want to cut my fingernails..”
then..”Ohhh.. you want the nail cutter”
?!?!.. “yea yea.. the nail cutter..” I replied..
then “Okay Mr. Nang, I’ll bring you the manicure set” (Philippians pronounce “NG” as “Nang”).. Most of the workers here are from Philippines, I think almost 90% of them are.. no joke

Nice yah?..
Yes.. I’m announcing to the world.. I’m taking this home!!..
Arghh.. another fler ‘ding-donging’ my door.. Okay.. this is the 2nd room service called ‘set-in’ where they will clean the room, give you new mineral water bottles, sets your sandals, dims the light, and prep your bed to sleep.. oh yah.. i dunno why they like to put a piece of rectangular white cloth on the floor next to the bed.. hmm..
Okay.. I’m kinda hungry now, it’s time (8pm) to makan din din.. Ppl in KL should be asleep by now.. I said ‘should’.. :) Goodnite!!
