- Me: ???..
- I pressed 1
- Operator: Hello?
- Me: Hello? I got a call from your automated machine telling me I owe RM8,377. How can it be? I didn't spend anything on this card!
- Operator: Sorry sir, can I have your full name & credit card number please?
- Me: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx
- Operator: We see that you have outstanding of RM8,377 from your Mastercard.
- Me: I don't have any Master from your bank.. the one I gave you was Visa!
- Operator: They say the transaction is done on the 21st July 2010 at Poh Kong Jewelery for RM8,377 on the 21st July 2010
- Me: What?!
- Operator: This means this card is a fraud card. Do you want me to cancel the card immediately?
- Me: Of course
- Operator: Can I have your IC number for verification?
- Me: ****** ** ****
- Operator: Okay sir, we have cancelled your Mastercard. I need to pass you thru to the "Fraud Card Department"
- After 10 secs another woman voice answered
- Operator: Fraud Card Department, how can I help you?
- Me: I was informed that I have a fraud card from your previous operator.
- Operator: Can you give me the card number?
- Me: **** **** **** ****
- Operator: Okay sir, can I have your telephone number? We will need to activate a phone recording now and call you back within 2mins. In the meantime, do not use your phone for anything. We will call you back.
- Me: Okay. *** *******
- Operator: Okay, please do not use your phone for 2 mins while I activate the phone recording and call you back.
- Me: Okay.
- After 30mins still no call.. I called back to the Eon Bank customer service number stated behind my credit card..
- Operator: Hello, Can I help you?
- I explained what happened..
- Operator: What was that fraud Mastercard number?
- Me: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx
- Operator: Sorry sir, I don't think that is a valid card number. I think perhaps the person who you spoke to just now was the Fraud itself!!!
- Me: ?!?!..
- Operator: In our records, no one made any call to you as well.. I think you will need to make a Police Report..
